Microsoft Word: Delete all those comments

Its a common practice to review your word document with multiple team mates, leadership. Each time someone adds a comment, you'll see a little comment popup shows up in the document. Well, if you are like me, you will want to reuse your word doc multiple times. So you will create copies. When you copy this document full of review comments, you copy the review comments too. Thus the requirement to delete all the comments in one go. Well its possible. Here's how: 


  1. Go to the Review tab
  2. Click on "Delete All Comments in Document"
Poof! The comments are gone, for real, they will be gone for good. So please be careful before you get rid of them.

Apache Commons StringUtils.isEmpty() vs Java String.isEmpty()

You might want to test for if a String is empty many a times. Before we jump onto the numerous solutions available let us take a look at how we define “Empty String”   The difference in the two methods given by Apache and Java are dependent on how we define an empty string. Java String.isEmpty returns a boolean true if the string’s length is zero. How to Unpack a tar file on Windows?

On Windows: You can download a simple command line tool to do this.
